About Me.

Hi, my name is Jim. I am an adult male with Spina Bifida/mylomeningocele and Hydrocephalus. I am able to walk, but I use a wheelchair for long distances. I have worn braces off and on throughout my life and I used crutches as a young child. I also have some of the other complications that go along with Spina Bifida.

Some of my interest include cooking, kayaking, going to the gym, wheelchair 5ks, and of course, FACEBOOKING!

My goal for with this blog, is to provide resources for individuals with disabilities find the services to assist them in their goal of leading happy, healthy and productive lives.

I also hope that people will be able to read my post and see what I have gone through and see that their is hope. Yes, there will be struggles, but with determination, you can accomplish your goals.

Parents Blog

My friend, Pam Halter, is the parent of a special needs adult daughter. She hosts a real, raw, honest blog for parents
who are feeling overwhelmed and need support from someone who understands. The goal of her blog is to provide a safe place with other parents who understand the pressure and frustration of raising a special needs child. Pam says, "My blog is not intended to be a rant; rather, a sharing of common emotions as we go along our lives."

Pam wants her readers to explore hearts, share broken dreams, encourage each other, laugh and cry with each other, and carry
each other's burdens. Please visit her blog on http://www.pamhalter.com/

It's all about the sweet and sour moments in our lives as we age. Focus is on the lives, activities, health and stories of people over 50.
